This study investigates the intricate relationship between language choice in narratives and the cultural nuances and societal issues prevalent in the Philippines. The Philippines, characterized by its linguistic diversity—including Filipino, English, and numerous regional languages—provides a unique backdrop for exploring how language serves as a reflection of identity, tradition, and socio-political dynamics. Through an analysis of various narratives, including literature, film, and oral traditions, the research highlights the significance of code-switching and multilingualism in expressing cultural identity and navigating social contexts.
