RomHack is one of the main computer security conferences in Italy, with 800 attendees expected in 2024. In its seventh edition the conference is supported by sponsors but organized by volunteers of Cyber Saiyan non-profit association.
The conference is in English and has international speakers and audience.
The keynote speaker of 2023 edition was Kim Zetter (agenda) while in 2022 was James Forshaw (agenda). During these years RomHack hosted italian and international speakers, some of them presented their researches in other well know international conferences (like BlackHat, Defcon, Brucon etc); few examples:
- Orange Tsai, Alessandro Magnosi (2023 agenda);
- Nestori Syynimaa and Markus Vervier (2022 agenda);
- Antonio Morales and Dirk-jan Mollema (2021 agenda);
- Marcello Salvati (2020 agenda);
- Orange Tsai, Meh Chang and Vincent Le Toux (2019 agenda);
- Sebastian Castro (2018 agenda).
The conference is planned for Saturday, 28 September 2024 in Rome at “Salone delle Fontane”, one of the most prestigious locations in Rome.
The Call for Papers (Attack & Defense topic) is open up to the end of May 2024 and speakers will receive an acceptance notification by 21 June 2024.
RomHack organization takes care of the speaker's travel arrangements and will provide for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday) in a hotel near the conference venue (10 minutes by walk) offering also:
- meals on Friday (dinner) and Saturday (lunch)
- beers during the conference
- 1 additional ticket for the conference
- welcome kit
- post-conf party
