The International Symposium on Digitalization and Regional Economic Development is jointly organized by the School of Economics at Chongqing Technology and Business University, the School of Economics at Liaoning University, and the Journal of International Trade & Economic Development. It will be held at Chongqing Technology and Business University (Nan'an Campus) in Chongqing, China, from October 23 to 25, 2026.
Submission Guidelines
Submissions must be original, unpublished work and comply with academic integrity standards.
Priority will be given to papers that employ high-quality micro/macro datasets; apply rigorous empirical/analytical methods; and provide evidence-based, actionable policy recommendations.
Please submit either a full English manuscript or an extended abstract (minimum 800 words, including research background, methodology, key findings, contributions, etc.). Attachments should include detailed contact information (phone number, email address) and your updated academic CV.

List of Topics
This symposium aims to explore how economies deepen economic and trade linkages and promote coordinated development through regional and international trade in the context of digitalization. We welcome submissions related to, but not limited to, the following topics:
- Digitalization, regional trade, and global value chain (GVC) restructuring
- Digital economy, green trade, and low-carbon transition
- Cross-border e-commerce and digital services trade innovation
- Digitalization, high-level opening-up, and regional cooperation
- Digitalization and high-quality economic and trade development in Central and Western China
- Digitalization and coordinated governance and development of urban agglomerations and metropolitan areas
Publication
Following the journal’s standard peer-review process, selected papers meeting the publication criteria will be considered for publication in the SSCI-indexed Journal of International Trade & Economic Development.
There is no registration fee for this symposium. Participants are responsible for their own travel, meal, and accommodation expenses.
