Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly relevant to health and everyday wellbeing. This BCS BritCHI 2026 workshop invites contributions on Health, Wellbeing and Human-AI Interaction (HAII). The workshop addresses AI in health and care settings and the broader wellbeing implications of everyday AI interaction, including conversational agents, generative AI, recommender systems, workplace AI and digital support tools.

The workshop will include a short framing talk, presentations from accepted contributors, and facilitated discussion focused on challenges, opportunities and future research directions. Submissions will be selected for relevance to the workshop theme, clarity of contribution and potential to stimulate discussion.

Submission Guidelines

Short eWiC-formatted papers of 4-6 pages (excluding references) are invited on topics including, but not limited to:

• Explainability and transparency in AI-driven health tools

• Emotional and psychological impacts of interacting with AI

• Human-AI collaboration in clinical decision-making and caring relationships

• Humanity-centred AI and algorithmic aversion or automation in health and wellbeing

• AI-driven behaviour-change and habit formation

• Participatory and inclusive design approaches for health and wellbeing in HAII systems

• Unintended consequences and long-term implications relating to HAII

• Approaches to trust and user empowerment

• AI-supported healthcare systems to strengthen societal resilience

• Personalisation in HAII systems: Exploring design strategies that go beyond demographic targeting to include psychological, behavioural, and contextual profiling

• Approaches to mitigate (implicit or explicit) misuse of interactive AI-systems

• The futures of health and wellbeing HAII

• Inclusive AI for health and wellbeing for everyone: AI agents that work well for all users

• Ethics and agency in health and well-being; Who is in control? Discussing fairness, responsibility, and human oversight in AI-agent decision-making

• AI health applications, guardrails and bias mitigations, etc.

Please note that at least one author of each accepted submission and all participants must register for the workshop.
